Role : SOC Analyst

Join the NIRT SOC Analyst and become a vital part of national cybersecurity defense! In this dynamic, remote role, you'll work alongside the National Incident and Response Team (NIRT) to monitor, analyze, and respond to security threats across diverse platforms and networks. Required Skills:
- Experience with SIEM and SOC alert triage
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS)
- Knowledge of threat detection and incident response techniques
- Ability to analyze large datasets for suspicious activity
- Familiarity with security event analysis from multiple sources
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with IT infrastructure design
- Knowledge of current security threats including malware, DDoS, insider risk, and phishing
- Familiarity with network/packet analysis and security technologies
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline (preferred)
- 0-2 years of experience in security-related roles or 6-8 years of relevant work experience with a high school diploma
- US Citizenship and ability to pass an enhanced background check for Public Trust clearance
- Prior experience working with security platforms, intrusion detection, and network analysis
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work 3 scheduled 12-hour shifts weekly, with shifts potentially rotating between day and night
- Residency in the Eastern, Central, or Mountain US time zones
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance
