Part-Time CAD Draftsperson (Vectorworks Preferred)
Location: Oakland, CA (Remote OK)
Hours: 5–10 hrs/week to start (ongoing)
We are a small, design-focused furniture and cabinetry studio based in Oakland, CA seeking a highly precise, experienced, and independent draftsperson to support built-in cabinetry and freestanding furniture projects.
This role is ideal for someone with an architecture background who is experienced in producing clean, accurate 2D technical drawings for client approvals.
Responsibilities
- Translate designer sketches, renderings, and notes into 2D CAD drawings
- Produce client approval drawing sets (plans, elevations, and sections)
- Maintain organized file structure and drawing standards
- Revise drawings based on feedback
This role focuses on client approval drawings only — production/shop drawings are handled internally.
Requirements
- 5+ years of CAD experience (education + work equivalent)
- Strong proficiency in Vectorworks (preferred) or other CAD platforms
- Background in architecture or interior design
- Highly detail-oriented and precise
- Able to work independently with minimal oversight
- Strong communication and responsiveness
Bonus:
- 3D modeling experience
- Familiarity with furniture or cabinetry
- Basic understanding of fabrication logic
- Good sense of humor
Work Structure
