System Administrator
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to support and manage cloud-based infrastructure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role focuses on AWS and Azure environments, Microsoft technologies, and ensuring reliable server and endpoint operations. The ideal candidate is a quick problem-solver who can multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and handle a variety of tasks with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and troubleshoot servers, primarily in AWS and Azure (100% cloud-focused for IT side)
- Support Microsoft technologies including Intune, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and related tools
- Standardize and build laptops/endpoints, including best practices for deployment and configuration
- Create and maintain standard AWS workstations with preloaded applications
- Assist with infrastructure for OT/IoT applications (e.g., Signet apps) from a server perspective, without handling application support
- Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and optimizations for performance issues
- Multitask across various requests in a high-volume environment
- Collaborate with the broader IT team, including help desk and network engineers
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed for production support
- Evaluate and implement new tools or processes to improve efficiency
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in system administration
- Strong knowledge of AWS (primary) and Azure cloud environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and server troubleshooting
- Ability to build and standardize endpoints/laptops quickly
- Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to figure out complex issues in hours rather than days
- Adaptability to a fast-paced setting with frequent multitasking and on-the-fly decisions
- Willingness to handle diverse tasks and support the team beyond core duties (“get it done” mentality)
- Basic understanding of hybrid IT/OT environments is a plus
Location & Travel
- Primary locations: Denver, CO (preferred) or Fort Worth, TX
- Minimal travel expected, focused on major offices and occasional field support
- Must be comfortable assisting with infrastructure needs across ~1,400 well sites in North Texas (though not hands-on at every site)
Team & Culture This role reports directly to the IT Director and works as one of two System Administrators (peer to existing admin in Fort Worth). The team values collaboration, quick thinking, and a proactive approach. Candidates from any industry are welcome—oil & gas experience is helpful but not required. Supports ~400-500 FTEs + contractors (~600 total users).
Compensation
- Competitive base salary (midpoint around $100K)
- 15-30% (short-term incentive / annual bonus; to be confirmed)
