Core Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Management

Collaborate with IT leadership to continuously monitor, maintain, and test technology infrastructure, ensuring consistent uptime and performance.
Drive end-to-end technical planning, design, and deployment of systems, including performance tuning and recovery procedures.
Manage infrastructure projects including servers, virtual machines, network switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and printers.
Identify and replace failed hardware components; build and maintain standardized images for servers and client endpoints.
Apply updates, patches, and configuration changes to keep systems current and compliant.
Support disaster recovery initiatives and business continuity planning, including testing and implementation activities.

Security & Compliance

Execute vulnerability remediation efforts and apply firmware upgrades across network and endpoint environments.
Monitor Office 365, Entra ID, and EDR platforms for potential security threats; investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis.
Implement and uphold endpoint and network security controls aligned with organizational standards.
Maintain configuration backups and perform regular monitoring of network infrastructure.
Support internal compliance programs and participate in change management processes.
Recommend and introduce security best practices and productivity improvements across the IT environment.

User & Desktop Support

Provide expert-level support for endpoint hardware and software, including both remote and on-site assistance.
Deliver prompt, professional, and effective resolution of technical issues for end users.
Manage Active Directory accounts, permissions, access requests, and password resets.
Oversee onboarding and offboarding workflows for all IT-related systems and accounts.
Support and maintain conference room technology and coordinate hardware/software procurement.

SharePoint Online & Microsoft 365

Function as the internal subject matter expert for SharePoint Online, supporting deployment, ongoing administration, and optimization.
Administer Microsoft 365 environments, including user management, licensing, and configuration.
Monitor the Office 365 ecosystem for security events and operational issues.

Documentation, Asset Management & Continuous Improvement

Maintain accurate and up-to-date IT asset records across all device types.
Document procedures, system configurations, and helpdesk resolutions thoroughly.
Log infrastructure tasks and collect user feedback to support iterative improvement.
Evaluate the existing technology stack for enhancement opportunities and emerging best practices.
Independently manage and prioritize workload in alignment with organizational goals.
Act as primary backup to the Senior IT Director for business-critical systems.
Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Industry certifications preferred: Microsoft 365 Administration, Network+/CCNA or equivalent, Linux+/LPIC-1, Security+ or equivalent.

Technical Skills & Experience

Demonstrated expertise administering and supporting SharePoint Online environments.
Hands-on proficiency with a broad range of hardware: desktops, laptops, servers, NAS/SAN, printers, switches, firewalls, access points, mobile devices, DVRs, projectors, time clocks, and more.
Experience with core IT applications including Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, Active Directory/DNS/DHCP, VPN, remote management tools, helpdesk platforms, endpoint protection, backup solutions, VOIP, WSUS/patch management, Dropbox, and Box.
Working knowledge of operating systems: Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Synology DSM, and Ubuntu Linux.
Familiarity with virtualization platforms and disaster recovery/business continuity frameworks.
Experience with NIST 800-53 controls, AWS, and SonicWall environments.
