Neurobase is an early-stage neurotechnology company developing cutting-edge synthetic EEG data generation platforms. Our flagship product enables researchers, developers, and medical device companies to generate high-quality, realistic EEG datasets at scale, dramatically reducing the time and cost of neurofeedback and brain-computer interface development.
We’re building the infrastructure that will power the next generation of neurotechnology applications, from clinical research to consumer neurofeedback devices. Our physics-based approach combined with advanced signal processing creates neurologically accurate synthetic data that accelerates innovation in the neurotech space.
The Role
We’re seeking an exceptional Chief Technology Officer to lead our technical vision and execution. As CTO, you’ll be responsible for developing our platform, building our engineering team, and driving the technical strategy that will scale Neurobase from startup to industry leader. This is a ground floor opportunity to shape the future of synthetic neurodata generation.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Architecture & Strategy: Design and implement scalable, production-ready systems for synthetic EEG data generation
Product Development: Lead the evolution of our core generation engine, API platform, and web services
Research & Innovation: Drive R&D initiatives to improve data quality, realism, and generation speed
Technical Standards: Establish best practices for code quality, testing, documentation, and deployment
Team Building
Hiring: Recruit and build a world-class engineering team (initially 2-3 engineers, scaling to 10+ after one year)
Mentorship: Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with founders, researchers, and potential customers
Product & Platform
API Development: Build robust, scalable APIs for programmatic data generation
Cloud Infrastructure: Design and implement cloud-native architecture (AWS/GCP/Azure)
Quality Assurance: Develop validation frameworks and metrics to ensure data quality
Performance Optimization: Continuously improve generation speed and efficiency
Business & Strategy
Technical Roadmap: Define and execute technical roadmap aligned with business goals
Customer Engagement: Work with enterprise clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions
Partnerships: Identify and evaluate technical partnerships (hardware companies, research platforms)
IP & Compliance: Ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, GDPR) and protect intellectual property
Qualifications
Required
Advanced Degree: PhD in Neuroscience, Neuroengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computational Neuroscience, or related field OR 5+ years of industry experience in neurotechnology, brain-computer interfaces, or medical device development
Technical Expertise: Strong background in signal processing, machine learning, or computational neuroscience
Programming: Proficiency in Python (required), experience with NumPy, SciPy, signal processing libraries
Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading technical teams or projects
Product Mindset: Experience building and shipping technical products
Preferred
Neurotech Industry Experience: Background in EEG, neurofeedback, BCI, or medical device companies
Research Experience: Published research in neuroscience, signal processing, or related fields
Startup Experience: Experience in early-stage companies or technical co-founder background
Cloud & DevOps: Experience with cloud platform, containerization, CI/CD
API Development: Experience building and scaling APIs
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of FDA, HIPAA, or medical device regulations

Base Salary: $150,000 USD
Equity: 3% ownership stake (subject to 4-year vesting with 1-year cliff)
