Position Title: Senior Windows Systems Administrator
Location: Bronx, NY (Hybrid)

Pay Rate: 65/hr on W2
Position Description:
We are seeking a Senior Windows Systems Administrator to support and optimize enterprise Windows environments in a hybrid setting. This role is ideal for a hands-on infrastructure professional with strong experience in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, PowerShell automation, virtualization, and SQL Server support.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining system stability, improving performance, enhancing security, and supporting business-critical applications in a mid-to-large-scale environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Windows Systems Administration
- Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022)
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows patching
- Monitor system health and performance; troubleshoot OS, hardware, and software issues
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
- Apply system hardening, security best practices, and vulnerability remediation
SQL Server Support
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and scripts for reporting and automation
- Perform basic performance tuning, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Partner with application and development teams to ensure system reliability and compatibility
Automation & Virtualization
- Design and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks
- Support virtualized environments using VMware, Hyper-V, and/or Nutanix
- Assist with system provisioning, capacity planning, and resource optimization
Operations, Collaboration & Documentation
- Collaborate with customers, technical teams, and leadership to resolve system issues
- Follow ITIL-aligned processes for incident, change, and problem management
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including:
- System configurations
- Procedures and runbooks
- Change and operational standards
- Participate in maintenance windows and operational support activities as required
Required Skills / Education:
- 5–7 years of experience as a Windows Systems Administrator in mid to large-scale environments
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Windows Server administration
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
- Microsoft SQL Server (installation, maintenance, scripting, basic performance tuning)
- Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and automation
- Experience supporting virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix)
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on service quality and customer outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and formal change management
- Experience supporting enterprise or regulated environments
- Prior experience in a contract or consulting-based IT role
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Hybrid Server Administrator
- Microsoft Certified: Administrator Associate
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
