The Opportunity
TECKpert’s client, a government agency in Florida, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Systems Administrator to join their Office of Information Technology (OIT) in Tallahassee, FL.
This position will play a key role in the oversight, management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms to support the client's infrastructure, applications, data, and business needs. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Primary job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversight and management of Microsoft 365 environments and other Microsoft platforms, identity platforms, and a multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Provide daily operations support, maintenance, and administration for Servers
- Architect, design, facilitate, lead, coordinate, and direct technology initiatives across Infrastructure administration, application development, data management & analytics, and cybersecurity
- Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties
- Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance
- Establish and maintain network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting systems and application problems
- Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines
- Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency
- Support other IT staff, including developers
- Document and automate administrative tasks to reduce manual work
Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to
$145,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Qualifications You Need
A successful candidate has the following experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field
- 5-8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field
- 2-3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems
- 3-5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration
- 2-3 years experience with Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022, and IIS Administration
- 2-3 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems
- 2-3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as GCP
- 3-5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services
- In-depth knowledge of Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu)
- In-depth knowledge of AWS Services and Microsoft Server products
- Proficiency in networking principles and cloud-based network architectures
- Experience with network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions
