Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Location: Onsite – South Bend, IN
Compensation: $200,000 base + target bonus (executive-level)
Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, growth-oriented Chief Information Officer to lead enterprise technology strategy for a rapidly expanding manufacturing organization. This is a newly created role driven by aggressive growth plans, ERP transformation, and automation initiatives. The CIO will serve as a key member of the executive team, responsible for modernizing systems, scaling IT capabilities, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.
This role is fully onsite and requires a leader who is equally comfortable setting strategy and rolling up their sleeves alongside a small, high-impact IT team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ERP system selection, implementation, and integration across manufacturing and business operations (Epicor, Plex, or similar systems)
- Drive automation initiatives, including plant floor systems, robotics, AGVs, and shop floor IT enablement
- Build and execute an enterprise data and analytics strategy to improve visibility, costing, planning, and operational performance
- Partner closely with the executive team to align technology strategy with aggressive growth goals, including new sites and revenue expansion
- Elevate IT delivery pace, discipline, and execution to match C-suite expectations
- Lead change management efforts to improve adoption, data integrity, and cross-functional alignment
- Develop, mentor, and scale a small, gritty internal IT and ERP-focused team
- Balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution as the organization scales
Required Experience & Background
- Proven CIO, VP of IT, or senior IT leadership experience within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Deep ERP implementation and selection experience, particularly in production, material planning, costing, and integrations
- Strong understanding of EDI, APIs, and system integrations
- Track record of delivering technology initiatives in fast-paced, growth-driven organizations
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to dive into execution when needed
- Experience bridging business, operations, and technology teams
- Formal IT education preferred but not required if paired with strong, practical career progression
