Akkodis is seeking a Systems Administrator for a 6 months contract with a client in Warrenville IL 60555.
Title: Systems Administrator
Location: Warrenville IL 60555
Duration: Contractual- 6 months and extendable
Pay Rate: $48-50/hr on W2 (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
Role Overview:
This position supports nuclear cybersecurity operations, including the design, configuration, and maintenance of equipment and virtual environments. The System Administrator will work hands-on in a small lab environment, assisting the Project Engineer with system setup, configuration, and redesign tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support nuclear cybersecurity projects and system design activities.
- Configure and maintain servers, firewalls, and network systems.
- Set up and manage virtual machines (VMs), including Hyper-V environments.
- Perform system cabling, IP configuration, and gateway setup.
- Manage and monitor Windows Server 2019 & 2025 systems.
- Participate in nuclear site visits approximately every 20 days (locations include Joliet, IL or Braidwood, IL).
- Assist with basic networking tasks including router/switch setup and troubleshooting.
- Support cybersecurity monitoring tools such as Splunk.
- Collaborate with engineers to redesign lab systems and perform hands-on implementation.
Required Skills:
- Server configuration and setup (Windows Server 2019/2025)
- Networking fundamentals: IP configuration, gateways, cabling
- Firewall configuration and management
- Virtual Machine management: Hyper-V setup and maintenance
- Basic cybersecurity awareness and familiarity with Splunk
- Hands-on lab experience with Cisco or HP networking equipment
Experience & Education:
- 3–5 years of relevant IT or system administration experience required
- Education: Degree not required; equivalent hands-on experience acceptable
