This role is ideal for someone who enjoys running the show, driving initiatives forward, and serving as the primary technical authority in a Fortinet-heavy hybrid infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary technical owner of the enterprise network environment (70% network / 30% systems administration)
• Lead network architecture, design, and optimization across eight U.S. locations
• Manage and support a Fortinet-based environment including firewalls, switches, and routers
• Make hardware and infrastructure recommendations, including Fortinet network solutions
• Build and deploy infrastructure for new site expansions
• Support hybrid cloud operations in a predominantly Azure-based environment
• Assist with Active Directory modernization and transition to Entra ID
• Oversee Dell SAN storage and limited VMware infrastructure
• Partner with internal IT team members including Service Desk, junior network resource, and software-focused team members
• Coordinate with MSP for operational support while maintaining full ownership of network strategy
• Drive major initiatives including cloud modernization, AI-driven automation (such as invoice scanning for AP), and self-service enablement using Copilot and agent-based solutions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders to align IT strategy with organizational goals
What We’re Looking For:
• Strong hands-on experience in network administration and design
• Deep expertise in Fortinet technologies
• Experience in hybrid Azure environments
• Ability to lead projects independently and communicate effectively across teams
• Comfortable operating as a senior technical decision-maker in a lean IT environment
Travel: Minimal (approximately once per year)
