Dessert Holdings is looking for a
Jr. Network Administrator to join our team based in
Aurora, CO. This individual will assist in maintaining, supporting, and optimizing our company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and end-user systems. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in systems administration and IT operations.
The typical hiring range for this role is $85,000 to $95,000 annually and is based on several factors such as education, work experience, skills, certifications, location, etc. In addition to pay, Dessert Holdings offers benefits such as a choice of comprehensive medical plans, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and retirement contribution to all eligible employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-level technical support to end users
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control (Active Directory, Azure AD, etc.)
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware/software issues
- Assist with network administration (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, switches)
- Perform routine backups and recovery operations
- Apply system updates, patches, and security configurations
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
- Support cloud services (Microsoft 365, AWS, Azure, or Google Workspace)
- Assist in implementing cybersecurity best practices
- Build and maintain end user compute devices
- Support peripheral devices such as printers, handheld scanners and tablets
- Provide hands on support to end users, including troubleshooting end user devices, applications and productivity tools
- Support routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Assist in VLAN configuration and network segmentation
- Maintain IP addressing schemes, subnetting, DNS, and DHCP services
- Monitor network performance, latency, and uptime
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 1 - 2 years of IT support and/or system administration experience (internships included)
- Working knowledge of Windows Server environments
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
- Experience with Active Directory, including user account creation, maintenance, and access management
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with cloud services, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Experience supporting networking and IT infrastructure environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or Linux certifications
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware)
- Exposure to scripting or automation using PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure
