Palo Alto Network Architect – Azure (Onsite | New York City)
1 year contract engagement with CDW
CDW is seeking a true Palo Alto expert with deep experience deploying and architecting Palo Alto VM-Series firewalls inside Azure. This is NOT a cloud generalist, we seek a Palo Alto specialist who has built, automated, and operated Palo Alto environments in Azure at scale.
Project Delliverables:
Azure Cloud Network Architecture
- Architect and deploy Azure Virtual WAN (vWAN) and hub-and-spoke environments
- Design secure VNets, Private Endpoints, ExpressRoute/VPN connectivity
- Build scalable, highly available global cloud network topologies
Palo Alto Engineering (Deep Expertise Required)
- Deploy and manage Palo Alto VM-Series firewalls in Azure
- Automate and manage policies through Panorama
- Design security policies, NAT rules, and threat profiles
- Perform packet-level troubleshooting and traffic flow diagnostics
- Integrate Palo Alto with Azure-native networking and monitoring
Infrastructure-as-Code & Automation
- Deploy Azure networking and firewall infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM
- Manage firewall rule sets and policies as code
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated validation workflows
- Drive GitOps and policy-as-code methodologies
Advanced Troubleshooting & Operations
- Provide senior-level escalation support across Azure and hybrid environments
- Analyze PCAPs, NSG flow logs, and PAN-OS logs
- Optimize routing (BGP/OSPF), resiliency, and performance
Required Expertise
Must-Have:
- Expert-level Palo Alto Networks experience (PCNSE strongly preferred)
- Hands-on deployment of Palo Alto VM-Series in Azure
- Strong Panorama automation and policy management
- Deep knowledge of:
- Azure Virtual WAN
- VNet architecture and segmentation
- ExpressRoute / VPN gateways
- Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, WAF
- Strong routing foundation (BGP, OSPF, hybrid cloud routing)
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform preferred)
Preferred:
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification
- Prisma SD-WAN experience
- Experience building automated or self-healing cloud network operations
This role is ideal for a Palo Alto-focused network architect who understands Azure deeply, designs secure cloud routing patterns, and is comfortable owning architecture, automation, and advanced troubleshooting in complex enterprise environments.
