BCForward is currently seeking a highly motivated Systems Administrator 2 for an opportunity with our client.
Job Title: Systems Administrator 2
Duration: 3 Months
Location: Redmond, WA (Hybrid – 3D/W)
Only 2-4 years of experience will be considered, Senior Resources will be disqualified.
“The ideal resume would contain 2+ years of Linux systems administration experience, hands‑on work supporting high‑performance compute (HPC) environments, experience with distributed multi‑user systems, familiarity with Slurm for HPC job scheduling, and experience using automation tools such as Python and Terraform, along with a strong Linux terminal background and exposure to HPC offerings hosted in Azure.”
Required skills for this role:
• Experienced in Linux systems administration and proficient with the Linux terminal
• Experienced with automation tools like Python, Ansible, Terraform
• Experience with distributed, multi-user systems
• Experience with networking and storage concepts in large-scale Linux environments
• Exceptional troubleshooting, analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to write concise and precise documentation
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
• 2+ years of experience working with Linux-based systems in a production, lab, or research computing environment
• Experience debugging and troubleshooting issues in production or pre-production systems, including performance, reliability, or configuration problems
• Experience with programming or scripting for automation, diagnostics, or operational tooling
• Ability to learn and operate within existing platforms, tools, and operational processes while contributing to improvements over time
Top 3 Must-Have HARD Skills & years of experience for each:
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Linux systems administration and proficient with the Linux terminal
• Minimum 2+ years of experience with automation tools like Python, Ansible, Terraform
• Minimum 2+ years of experience with distributed, multi-user systems
