This client is the leading client in music streaming and they are seeking a proactive and adaptable
Fact-Checker for their curated selection of its most popular podcasts. The primary objective of this role is to assist the copy department in upholding rigorous standards for precision across all written, audio, visual, and social platforms. You will collaborate with our editorial team to vet content spanning the core pillars of our brand: sports, entertainment, politics, and beyond.
This is a remote position. The ideal candidate should be prepared for a flexible schedule, with standard weekday shifts beginning at 8 a.m. ET and occasional weekend availability as needed for 28 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
- Verifying the accuracy of daily editorial articles.
- Utilizing WordPress to build and manage pages for the official website.
- Maintaining professional and clear communication with editors, writers, and producers to verify that all corrections are implemented accurately.
- Assisting with general administrative tasks to support department operations.
- Aiding in research for specialized company initiatives, including microsites and podcast development.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year of professional fact-checking experience for a digital outlet, magazine, or news organization.
- Proficiency in web production and standard content management systems (CMS).
- Deep familiarity with the landscapes of sports (including statistics), pop culture, and global news.
- High level of comfort navigating various online research tools and databases.
- Dedication to precision and an eye for detail. Our checkers must be skilled at verifying both specific data points (spelling, statistics, dates) and broader editorial logic (ensuring the overarching premise is factual and the internal narrative remains consistent).
