V Group Inc. is a certified MWBE Information Technology services and product company headquartered in East Windsor, NJ. V Group has been providing IT Professional Services to various State and Local agencies.
We are currently helping one of the City agencies to contract a temporary Chief Information Office/ Chief Technology Officer (CIO/ CTO) to assist in managing the day-to-day activities of the organization. Reporting to the First Deputy Commissioner and serving in collaboration with the Deputy Chief Information Officer, the CIO/ CTO will provide technical assistance to staff and oversee technical and engineering teams to ensure critical systems remain operational and will work with the appropriate teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise. The CIO/ CTO will also make recommendations for system enhancements to the First Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner and will communicate with the stakeholders on issues and protocols, as appropriate.
Required Skills:
- Advanced degree in a technology-related field such as Computer Science or Information Technology
- Extensive experience in executive-level technology leadership and enterprise IT management
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proven expertise in cybersecurity, compliance, and data governance
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value
- Strong strategic planning, financial management, and leadership capabilities
- Experience managing vendors and enterprise technology partnerships
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a hybrid CIO/ CTO, overseeing both internal IT operations and external-facing technology platforms
- Lead and manage technical and engineering teams to ensure system availability, performance, and reliability
- Develop and implement a technology strategy aligned with business objectives, operational needs, and budget
- Provide technical guidance and decision-making support to the First Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner
- Ensure cybersecurity controls, compliance standards, and data governance frameworks are enforced
- Identify, assess, and manage technology-related risks across the organization
- Oversee incident response, troubleshooting, and resolution of critical system issues
- Manage vendor relationships and establish strategic technology partnerships
- Communicate technology protocols, risks, and updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Attract, retain, and develop skilled technology professionals, including converting consultant roles into permanent positions
