We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Counterparty Risk Analyst to join our Market and Counterparty Risk (M&CR) team. This role is integral to ensuring the effective monitoring and management of counterparty risk across the organization. The Counterparty Risk Analyst will focus on analyzing risk metrics, supporting the onboarding process of new transactions, and enhancing the current risk monitoring framework. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to influence risk management practices while collaborating with various teams both locally and globally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Traded Risk:
- Perform daily certification of Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) metrics, including Potential Future Exposure (PFE) and Settlement Gap Risk (SGR).
- Provide essential analyses to the Front Office and Surveillance Teams for daily monitoring of breaches related to various CCR metrics, such as notional cash out, large trades, FX Settlement Risk, and stress tests.
- Actively participate in Credit Risk committees addressing breaches within the Americas.
- Drive continuous improvement in production processes, methodologies, and documentation.
2. Forward Risk:
- Analyze and support Front Office requests for market operations and new transaction authorizations involving counterparty risk.
- Collaborate with credit risk analysts during the onboarding process and annual reviews, analyzing portfolios with appropriate metrics (e.g., PFE, stress tests) and presenting counterparty risk assessments to committees.
- Serve as a point of reference on counterparty risk for cross-functional teams, including the Front Office, Credit Risk, and Legal Services.
- Provide analyses regarding requests related to collateral deviations for ISDA/CSAs, GMRA, etc.
- Conduct qualitative analyses of market operations, including wrong-way risk, liquidity risk, and concentration risk.
- Advise on the impact of new products and activities related to counterparty risk, establishing an appropriate management framework.
- Evaluate requests for new transactions from Market Risk that involve counterparty risk.
- Prepare and present materials for senior management during regular committees or ad hoc presentations.
- Contribute to defining and operationalizing the Risk Appetite Framework.
- Respond promptly to requests from regulators (e.g., FINRA, FED, ECB), external audits, and internal teams, while supporting the implementation of action plans addressing recommendations.
- Assist in the implementation, enhancement, and automation of monitoring risk indicators.
- Ensure that all documentation relevant to responsibilities is kept up to date.
3. Transverse Risk:
- Actively engage in projects aimed at enhancing the current monitoring framework.
- Collaborate with M&CR team members locally and in the Head Office to align local risk frameworks with Head Office standards.
- Support the Head Office project team with all CCR projects related to the U.S. platform, which includes:
- Coordinating interactions between the Head Office and local teams.
- Managing local aspects of CCR projects.
- Notifying Head Office IT and CCR Project Management teams of local projects impacting CCR risk management or metrics calculation.
- Acting as the local expert in global projects concerning Counterparty Credit Risk (collateral management, IT systems, local market specifics, U.S. platform organization, etc.).
The Counterparty Risk Analyst may also serve as a backup for other members of the wider M&CR team (Market/Liquidity Risk and PnL) during peak periods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial industry.
- Strong understanding of counterparty credit risks and relevant regulations (Basel, CRR).
- Knowledge of financial products and markets.
- Familiarity with risk analysis tools and methods, including stress testing and Value at Risk (VaR).
- Ability to manipulate, analyze, summarize, and present comprehensive memos for team members and all levels of management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions in a complex environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting, meeting deadlines on ad-hoc projects.
- Effective communication skills with a track record of building relationships with the Front Office and all levels of management and employees.
- A positive, motivated demeanor that fosters a proactive approach to process improvements and initiatives in consultation with management.
- Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL, Business Objects, Unix/Linux, and Power BI for developing and improving reporting tools.
- FRM or CFA certification is a plus.

The salary range for this position will be between $155,000 - $175,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
