Role Summary
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to help design, build, and operate a scalable cloud platform that supports internal engineering teams. The role focuses on enabling teams to build, deploy, and run applications efficiently and securely, using infrastructure-as-code, automation, and modern DevOps practices. You will work closely with software engineers, security, and other platform stakeholders to provide reliable shared services, improve developer experience, and continuously enhance the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Services
– Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
– Build and operate scalable, resilient cloud environments to support multiple workloads.
– Maintain and evolve platform services that enable application deployment and runtime operations.
Container Platforms & Orchestration
– Deploy, operate, and maintain container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
– Support containerized workloads across different environments using standardized patterns.
– Apply GitOps or similar declarative approaches to manage platform and application deployments.
CI/CD & Developer Enablement
– Enable application teams to build and deploy services through standardized CI/CD pipelines.
– Support integration with source control and automation tools to streamline delivery workflows.
– Reduce friction for development teams by promoting reusable templates and automation.
Observability & Operations
– Implement and maintain observability solutions, including metrics, logging, and tracing.
– Proactively monitor platform health and troubleshoot issues across cloud services and workloads.
– Participate in incident resolution and continuous improvement of operational practices.
Security & Reliability
– Apply cloud security best practices, including identity and access management and network security.
– Support compliance and security requirements through automation and platform standards.
– Contribute to the reliability and availability of platform services.
Collaboration & Documentation
– Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support platform adoption.
– Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, platform services, and operational processes.
– Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
– Stay current with cloud and platform engineering best practices.
– Identify and propose improvements to platform reliability, usability, and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
– Professional experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or a related role.
– Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider.
– Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and automation practices.
– Practical experience running applications on containerized platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
– Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery workflows.
– Solid knowledge of cloud networking, security principles, and distributed systems.
– Strong problem-solving skills and an engineering mindset focused on impact and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
– Background supporting internal developer platforms or shared infrastructure teams.
– Familiarity with GitOps concepts and declarative infrastructure management.
– Experience with observability platforms and operational monitoring.
– Exposure to highly available or large-scale systems.
– Experience working in environments with security or compliance constraints.
