Robert Half is currently partnering with a well-respected company within the high-tech sector that is looking to hire a SQL Developer. As an experienced SQL Developer, you will design, develop, and optimize database solutions supporting mission‑critical applications and reporting needs. This role focuses on writing efficient T‑SQL queries, building stored procedures, improving database performance, while partnering with our DBA team. This position is full time, with full benefits and 100% onsite in the Orange County area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize T‑SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions
- Design and update relational database schemas, tables, indexes, and views
- Perform query tuning and database performance optimization (execution plans, indexing strategies, statistics, I/O performance)
- Create and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or other tools
- Support data migrations, data quality initiatives, and data integrity checks
- Collaborate with application developers to integrate SQL logic into applications
- Troubleshoot database‑related issues, including slow queries, connection issues, and failed jobs
- Build and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and technical documentation
- Implement best practices around security, backup/recovery, and change management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of proven experience as a SQL Developer or similar role.
- Minimum 3+ years developing solutions with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Strong T-SQL experience including creating stored procedures and functions
- Experience writing T‑SQL (Transact‑SQL)
- Experience building stored procedures, views, functions, triggers
- Experience writing complex queries, joins, CTEs, window functions
- Experience creating ETL logic (SSIS and custom T‑SQL)
- Support application development with database logic
- Ensure queries are optimized and efficient
- Reporting in SSRS. Power BI is a plus.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- 5+ years in query optimization, indexing and performance tuning.
- Excellent communication skills.
