Job Title: Senior Enterprise Architect (Infrastructure & Cloud Migration)
Location: Hybrid 3x/Week in Madison, WI
Employment Type: Contract‑to‑Hire
Duration: Long‑term Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a senior‑level Enterprise Architect to support enterprise infrastructure and cloud modernization initiatives. This role focuses on bridging traditional on‑prem infrastructure with modern cloud platforms, helping design and guide the transition to next‑generation, scalable, and secure environments. The Enterprise Architect will partner closely with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure architectural alignment across the organization.
This position is ideal for an architect who has deep hands‑on experience with legacy infrastructure and has successfully led or contributed to large‑scale cloud migration and modernization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and influence enterprise‑level architecture decisions related to infrastructure and cloud modernization
· Design target‑state architectures that transition legacy compute, storage, and network environments into cloud platforms
· Partner with infrastructure, engineering, and security teams to align architecture with technical and business goals
· Support the development of next‑generation cloud landing zones to host enterprise workloads
· Evaluate and guide network and security architecture, including modern cloud‑native and zero‑trust approaches
· Collaborate with other architects to translate business and technology strategies into actionable architectural designs
· Provide architectural governance, standards, and guidance across multiple engineering teams
Required Experience & Qualifications
· Senior‑level experience as an Enterprise Architect or Infrastructure Architect
· Strong background in traditional infrastructure, including data center, networking, compute, and storage
· Proven experience modernizing legacy infrastructure and migrating workloads to the cloud
· Experience designing architectures that support hybrid and multi‑cloud environments
· Ability to work across multiple teams and influence without direct authority
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for varied audiences
Tools & Technologies
· Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure (primary), AWS (secondary)
· Enterprise SaaS platforms (e.g., Salesforce)
· Network and security technologies, including next‑generation firewall and cloud security platforms
· Modern networking concepts such as secure access service edge (SASE) and cloud networking
· Infrastructure platforms spanning compute, storage, and networking
Nice to Have
· Experience in regulated or highly secure environments
· Prior work in large, complex enterprise environments
· Familiarity with architecture frameworks
