The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a VP of Information Technology to lead and scale its IT function during a critical phase of growth and operational maturity. This role will serve as the senior-most IT leader and will be responsible for aligning technology strategy with business objectives, strengthening governance, and overseeing enterprise systems, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
This is a highly visible leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the organization’s technology platform while partnering closely with executive leadership. The successful candidate will balance transformational initiatives with the need for stability, reliability, and operational excellence across a distributed, multi-site environment.
Position Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, structure, and scale the IT organization, including team development and vendor management
- Partner closely with executive leadership to translate business needs into technology strategy
- Own the full enterprise technology stack, including ERP, CRM, eCommerce, and operational systems
- Oversee data architecture, analytics, and reporting to support decision-making
- Evaluate, select, and implement new systems and tools end-to-end
- Ensure reliability, security, and scalability of network and infrastructure environments
- Establish IT governance, processes, controls, and best practices
- Balance modernization initiatives with day-to-day operational stability
- Lead change management and user adoption across the organization
- Manage IT budgets, roadmaps, and external partners.

Technical & Functional Requirements
- Experience leading IT in a distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred
- Deep understanding of ERP platforms and enterprise systems integration
- Experience with CRM, eCommerce, and customer-facing technologies
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity fundamentals
- Working knowledge of data, analytics, and emerging technologies (including AI-enabled tools)
- Hands-on experience with system design, implementation, and optimization
Professional Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including senior leadership roles
- Experience leading IT in distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred
- Experience in private equity–backed, growth-stage, or transformation-driven organizations strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success scaling IT capabilities in complex, multi-location environments
- NetSuite experience preferred
