Network Administrator
Onsite - Denver Metropolitan Area
Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of an organization to ensure maximum uptime for users. The role includes designing system configurations, troubleshooting, break/fix, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as needed.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
- Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
- Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to ensure network efficiency and security
- Analyze network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Arranging scheduled upgrades
- Investigating faults in the network
- Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
- Reporting network status to key stakeholders
- Some travel required for installation of network equipment at new locations, overhauling existing locations, and/or assisting with site relocations.
Experience, Knowledge & Training in the following technical areas are preferred:
- HPE Aruba Networking – Switches, Wireless Access Points
- Palo Alto Firewalls
- Cisco Meraki – MX firewalls, MS Switches, MR WAPs
- Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus
- Virtualization – Virtual Networking (VMware ESXi, vCenter, UCS Blade Systems)
- Storage Networking – NFS, FibreChannel, iSCSI (Pure, EMC, ExaGrid, QNAP, Synology)
- Z-Scaler Cloud Security (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX)
- HPE Clearpass Network Access Controls (NAC)
- HPE UXI / Wyebot - Wireless & Network analysis/troubleshooting
- SD-WAN (Velocloud & EdgeConnect/Silverpeak)
- Routing Protocols, DHCP, DNS LAN/WAN, ACLs & VLAN
- Security Concepts – Troubleshooting using SIEM & syslog logging systems
- Network Monitoring administration (SNMP, Netflow, WMI) – Solarwinds experience a plus
- Incident Management & ITIL Framework (ServiceNow)
- Documentation – Experience with creating and maintaining Visio network diagrams & IPAM (Netbox)
- Periodic On-Call Afterhours Standby responsibility/experience
- Experience with traveling to locations to install, troubleshoot, manage and maintain remote networks (10-25% travel)
- Experience rack, stack and cabling including working within colocation datacenters
- Experience working with copper ethernet, wireless networks, and fiber based network components
- IT-related Bachelor's Degree and relevant technical certifications is highly preferred
